Surrounded by historical examples from the expressionist oeuvre of sculptor and wood engraver Jozef Cantré, as well as painters Gustave De Smet and Frits Van den Berghe, this mudel biennial highlights contemporary artists working across a range of media. Through these artistic crossovers, they remain faithful to their original visual language and message, while exploring the new possibilities offered by other techniques. The works of fifteen artists engage in a dialogue spanning painting, graphic arts, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, installation, and conceptual art.
mudel – Museum of Deinze and the Lys Region collects, preserves, and presents an overview of the rich artistic production of the Lys region from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day. Located at the heart of a region where a unique artistic climate first emerged—and continues to flourish—the museum contributes to the international recognition of artists from the Lys region and serves as a gateway for a broad public wishing to discover this heritage through activities, collection displays, and contextual exhibitions.
